CoblAges - Using Community-Based Learning to Prepare Higher Education Students for an Aging World
The project's goal is to develop a methodology using community-based learning in higher education and to enable students from different disciplines to acquire contemporary skills (green, digital, longevity) to better prepare for an aging population.
Objectives:
- To provide transnational collaboration opportunities to support the internationalization of higher education institutions,
- To integrate higher education institutions with local communities
- To develop and establish a methodology for using community-based learning to prepare higher education students for an aging world
- To train professors, community leaders, and student representatives to facilitate intergenerational citizenship workshops in rural communities
- To encourage the active participation of students and older adults and enable them to develop community projects through intergenerational collaboration
- To train young people To broaden the horizons of higher education students by encouraging short-term transnational mobility and to help them build bridges within and beyond Europe, thus strengthening a sense of shared EU identity.
- To support active citizenship and promote healthy aging across the lifespan (from young to old) by encouraging social action.
- To contribute to the fight against ageism by encompassing different age groups.
Expected Results:
- To empower higher education students to participate in an aging society. Community Based Learning (CBL) as a tool within the scope of Intergenerational Citizenship to prepare for the world A methodology for using it as a learning tool.
- A short course aimed at developing green, digital, and long-term skills in higher education students.
- A multidisciplinary capacity-building program for professors, community leaders, and student representatives.
