PROF. DR. YAVUZ DEMİR
RESUME
Born in Samsun in 1959, he completed his doctorate at the University of Manchester (1991). He taught Turkish literature at the University of Oxford between 1999-2000 and 2009-2011. As a Fulbright Visiting Scholar in Residence at Alma College, he taught Turkish literature, literary theory, and narratology (2006). In addition to Modern Turkish literature, his research interests include literary theory, narratology, and fiction writing. Ondokuz Mayıs, Bilkent, Girne American, Nişantaşı are the universities where he worked, and Prof. Dr. Özcan was appointed as the Rector of Ankara Science University as of June 2020. Dr. Y. Demir has published articles in various journals, as well as books and translations: The Typology of Narrators in Early Turkish Stories (2002), Within Time in Time/Within the Novel (2002), The Conqueror: A Novel (2009), Life Is Like This But Story (2010), Kalenin Bedenleri/States of Fiction (2018).
