Dear Students,
The Faculty of Engineering at Ankara Science University was established in 2020 and includes the departments of Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Industrial Engineering. As a newly established university, we are proud to be a young and talented university. Having a strong spirit, adapting to change, and the ability to make quick and effective decisions have always been defining elements of the Faculty of Engineering's character.
The rapid advancements in technology in recent years and their impact on our ways of doing business have created a need for significant change in the education system, increasing efforts to evolve from the 3rd generation "entrepreneurial university" approach to the structure of new generation 4th generation universities. The high costs of education, coupled with the increasing demand for young university graduates, have led to a significant increase in the demand for new and effective universities. The rise in unemployment worldwide and the significant experience gained in distance education during the pandemic provide certain clues about how universities of the future should be shaped. It is anticipated that universities in the future will be more independent and competitive, more creative and original, and much more closely connected with the business world, participating in basic R&D as well as the design and development of high-value-added products and technologies.
With the widespread adoption of 5G technology in mobile communications, communication infrastructures with S-HD quality images have been established. Developments in big data and artificial intelligence (AI) are opening new horizons in education. To increase the efficiency of education in line with technological advancements, a structure that is personalized, adheres to the principles of continuous learning, and is constantly adapted and developed is needed. It is anticipated that educational institutions that fail to keep pace with this change will face difficult times in the near future.
Our faculty members have received doctorates from distinguished universities in Turkey, the US, and Europe. Our faculty has also recruited many young and talented faculty members. In addition to our senior faculty, we've built a synergy among our young faculty. Our undergraduate programs aim to train our students to take on leadership and innovative roles in industry, top-tier public institutions, and educational institutions. Our students also have the opportunity to conduct research in research laboratories established by our faculty. In project courses, our students work on solutions to unique technological and scientific problems, and through close relationships with industry, they are given the opportunity to work on real-world problems. Long-term internship and short-term work opportunities are offered through partnerships with established international companies.
In addition to the solid foundation in engineering, our students are encouraged to raise awareness of social issues through elective courses in society, humanities, and social sciences, as well as through extracurricular social activities. Numerous student clubs are also available, allowing students to experience and learn about the various dimensions of organization, democracy, and leadership. These clubs organize numerous events.
I invite you to visit our website for detailed information about our education system, undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs, academic staff, research areas and facilities, and centers of excellence, research, and application.
