1. What activities did you participate in during your internship?
I worked as an intern translator at the Department of European Union and Foreign Relations at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. During my internship, I translated official documents such as Directives, Joint Declarations, and Conventions. I also worked on terminology for various European Union texts in my role as coordinator.
2. Were the internship officers at your company attentive?
Yes, the officers at the institution where I interned were very attentive. I received support from them whenever I encountered any difficulties during the translation process. This helped me improve my skills in translating European Union texts.
3. What did the internship offer?
It provided me with the opportunity to apply the translation skills I learned theoretically in a professional environment. It increased my command of official written language and improved my knowledge of legal terminology. I had the opportunity to gain experience to prepare for my professional career.
4. Would you recommend your internship to other students at our university who will be interning after you? Why?
Yes, I definitely recommend it. It provides valuable experience in the field of translation. It was a valuable experience to master European Union-related texts and observe how public institutions operate. The work environment was also quite productive.
5. Considering the experience and knowledge you gained during your four-year education, would you recommend our university and your department to other students?
Yes, our university and the English Translation and Interpreting Department provide students with a solid foundation in both theory and practice. Thanks to our instructors, we've become well-equipped in courses like oral and written translation in relevant fields like law, medicine, and economics. We also had the opportunity to practice during our mandatory internship. Therefore, I recommend this program to students considering this program.

1. What activities did you participate in during your internship?
During my internship, I translated ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and ISO 45001 documents into Turkish and English. I also created an in-house glossary for translating technical terms. I learned the structure of quality and environmental management documents and contributed to the segmentation and editing processes. I gained basic knowledge of CAT tools. I also assisted with drafting the company's promotional content in English and monitored professional email correspondence.
2. Were the internship officers at your company attentive?
Yes, they were very attentive and supportive. They patiently explained any technical issues we lacked. Their feedback was very constructive, and our questions were answered.
3. What did the internship provide you?
I gained a significant understanding of technical translation. I learned the importance of formal fidelity and terminology consistency in translating standard texts like ISO documents. The opportunity to work with real industry documents boosted my self-confidence. I was introduced to CAT tool concepts. I took responsibility for time management and project delivery processes.
4. Would you recommend your internship to other students at our university who will be interning after you? Why?

5. Considering the experience and knowledge you've gained over your four years of education, would you recommend our university and your department to other students?
Yes, I do. During my education, I gained important knowledge in cultural transfer, text analysis, and translation theories, in addition to linguistic skills. A strong foundation for transitioning to business life was created through practical lessons and projects.
