Information Technology Department
The Ankara Science University Information Technology Department provides services to ensure that the University’s education, teaching, research, and administrative activities are carried out through a secure, fast, and uninterrupted information technology infrastructure.
Our Department continues its activities to identify the University’s technological needs, improve the existing IT infrastructure, ensure the security of information systems, and provide the technical support required by users. Within this scope, services are provided in areas such as network and system management, information security, user support services, email systems, internet access, server management, and the continuity of digital services.
The planning, installation, operation, and security of the wired and wireless network infrastructure used on the University campus are managed by the Information Technology Department. In order to enable academic and administrative staff, as well as students, to access University resources quickly and securely, the network infrastructure is regularly monitored and improvements are made in terms of performance and capacity.
Technical planning is carried out to ensure the effective and uninterrupted operation of the University’s internet access, corporate email services, server systems, user accounts, and other IT services. Monitoring, backup, update, and maintenance activities are performed regularly in order to prevent possible service interruptions.
Information security is one of the primary areas of responsibility of our Department. Necessary technical and administrative measures are taken to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data created, processed, and stored within the University. Cybersecurity threats are regularly monitored, and the University’s IT resources are protected through firewalls, access controls, antivirus systems, logging, and monitoring solutions.
Technical support services are provided to resolve issues encountered by academic and administrative staff and students regarding hardware, software, internet access, user accounts, and corporate applications. Support requests are recorded, evaluated, and addressed by the relevant technical teams as quickly as possible.
The installation, maintenance, and technical support of computer laboratories and other IT equipment used in education and research activities are also provided. In addition, support is offered for the IT infrastructure required for meetings, seminars, conferences, and similar academic events held at the University.
The main objective of the Information Technology Department is to contribute to the University’s digital transformation by following current technologies, developing user-oriented IT services, and ensuring that the University’s information resources are used in a secure environment.
In carrying out our responsibilities, our key principles include ensuring that data is stored under secure and appropriate conditions, enabling rapid access to required information, maintaining the sustainability of IT services, and ensuring the efficient use of technological resources.
