Central Internet Access

The University’s central internet access is provided through ULAKNET (Turkish Academic Network) and Türk Telekom. Internet connections are configured redundantly, and in the event of an interruption on one connection, service continuity is maintained through the other connection.

Our users’ internet access and the information systems within the University are protected by redundantly configured firewalls. Internet traffic is logged in accordance with applicable legislation and legal obligations.

High-speed wired and wireless internet services are provided to our students, academic staff, and administrative personnel throughout the University.

Local and Wide Area Network

Local network infrastructure is available in the University’s offices, laboratories, and classrooms. Users can access institutional systems and services provided over the local network within the scope of their assigned authorization.

Wireless Network

At our University, students, academic staff, and administrative personnel can access the internet and other institutional services through wireless network connections.

Eduroam (Education Roaming) is an international wireless network service that enables users of member institutions to securely access the internet at different universities and research institutions. Our University is a member of the Eduroam network. Information on how to connect can be found on the University’s relevant Eduroam webpage.

Temporary accounts valid for a specified period may be created for guest users to access the wireless network service upon the request of the relevant departments.

VPN Services

An SSL VPN service is provided to enable users to securely access University resources from outside the institution. Users who wish to use this service may apply to the Information Technology Department to request the necessary access authorization.

Network Planning

The network infrastructure of the University and its affiliated units is planned as wired or wireless connections in line with current and future needs. During the improvement of the existing infrastructure and the development of new network infrastructure, current technologies, security requirements, performance, and service continuity are taken into consideration.
