About the Call Calendar
Application dates for national and international funding programmes may change according to the work programmes of the relevant funding bodies. This page provides a general overview of recurring application patterns and supports the timely preparation of project proposals.
The official call document published by the funding body must always be consulted for final deadlines and current requirements.
General Call Pattern
- Continuously open programmes: Certain TÜBİTAK programmes, including 1002, 1005, and 3501, may remain open throughout the year.
- Periodic national programmes: TÜBİTAK 1001 and selected ministry, TÜSEB, and development agency programmes open during specified periods.
- Horizon Europe and Digital Europe: Calls are published on different dates under European Commission work programmes.
- Erasmus+: The principal call and Programme Guide are generally published annually, with different deadlines for each action.
- COST: An annual open call is organised for new COST Action proposals. Researchers may join the working groups of existing Actions throughout the year.
- Other international calls: EUREKA, EIT, the World Bank, United Nations agencies, and other funding bodies may publish thematic or periodic calls.
Recommended Preparation Schedule
Particularly for international collaborative proposals:
- Clarify the project idea and partnership structure 8-12 weeks before the deadline
- Prepare responsibilities, work packages, and expected outcomes 6-8 weeks beforehand
- Complete the budget, institutional documents, and internal approvals 3-5 weeks beforehand
- Reserve the final week for portal, document, authorisation, and signature checks
Open calls are published under Announcements. Academic units planning an application are encouraged to contact the Projects Office Directorate as early as possible.
