Erasmus Policy Statement 2021–2027
Ankara Science University (Ankara Bilim Üniversitesi) is a young, dynamic and rapidly developing foundation university established by the Turkish Productivity Foundation. The University places people, science, technology, art and design at the centre of education and research. It aims to educate creative, critically thinking and socially responsible individuals who respect diversity, combine different disciplines and produce innovative solutions to contemporary challenges.
Internationalisation is an important part of Ankara Science University’s institutional mission and development strategy. The University considers international cooperation an effective means of improving the quality of education and research, strengthening intercultural dialogue, increasing the professional and personal competences of students and staff, and contributing to the international visibility of the institution.
Through the Erasmus+ Programme, Ankara Science University aims to increase the participation of students, academic staff and administrative staff in international mobility activities; develop sustainable partnerships with higher education institutions and other organisations; strengthen the international dimension of its academic programmes; and support cooperation in education, research, innovation, technology, art and design.
The University encourages students to participate in Erasmus+ study and traineeship mobility and supports academic and administrative staff through teaching and training mobility opportunities. These activities enable participants to experience different educational and professional environments, improve their foreign-language and intercultural communication skills, exchange good practices and develop lasting international networks.
Erasmus+ activities are coordinated by the Erasmus Coordination Office in cooperation with the Erasmus Institutional Coordinator, the Erasmus Commission, departmental Erasmus coordinators and the relevant academic and administrative units. Application requirements, selection criteria, available grants, partner universities, deadlines and required documents are announced through the University’s official communication channels.
Participant selection is carried out according to previously announced, transparent, fair, consistent and measurable criteria. Ankara Science University is committed to providing equal access to Erasmus+ opportunities and does not discriminate on the basis of gender, disability, age, nationality, ethnic or social origin, religion, economic circumstances or any other personal characteristic.
Particular attention is given to students and staff with fewer opportunities. Participants facing financial, physical, social, educational, geographical or other barriers are informed about the inclusion support and additional funding opportunities available within the Erasmus+ Programme. Necessary arrangements are made, within the applicable programme rules and institutional possibilities, to facilitate their participation.
Ankara Science University is committed to the full academic recognition of study and traineeship periods successfully completed abroad. The courses, credits and learning outcomes agreed upon before mobility through the Learning Agreement are recognised following the successful completion of the mobility period. The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System is used to support transparency, comparability and recognition, and recognised activities are reflected in the student’s academic records and Diploma Supplement where applicable.
The University provides outgoing participants with academic and administrative guidance before, during and after their mobility. Participants are informed about course selection, Learning Agreements, grant procedures, accommodation, travel, insurance, visa requirements and the documents to be completed at the end of the mobility.
Incoming students and staff are welcomed as members of the Ankara Science University community. They are provided with accessible information about application procedures, academic programmes, course catalogues, the academic calendar, accommodation options, visa and residence permit procedures and life in Ankara. Academic and administrative support is provided by the Erasmus Coordination Office, departmental coordinators and the relevant University units.
Ankara Science University adopts the priorities of the Erasmus+ Programme concerning inclusion and diversity, digital transformation, environmental sustainability and participation in democratic life. The University supports the use of digital tools such as Erasmus Without Paper and Online Learning Agreements and encourages the reduction of paper-based procedures. Participants are also encouraged to consider environmentally responsible travel options and adopt sustainable practices during their mobility.
The University regards intercultural dialogue, respect, tolerance, human dignity, equality and academic freedom as fundamental values. Erasmus+ participants are encouraged to engage with different cultures, share their experiences and contribute to an inclusive academic and social environment free from discrimination, racism, xenophobia and prejudice.
Ankara Science University aims to establish balanced, sustainable and mutually beneficial partnerships based on academic compatibility, institutional quality and long-term cooperation potential. Erasmus+ agreements and projects are expected to contribute not only to mobility activities but also to curriculum development, joint academic activities, blended intensive programmes, research, innovation and institutional capacity building.
Information about Erasmus+ opportunities is disseminated through the University’s Erasmus website, announcements, information meetings, orientation programmes, brochures, newsletters and digital communication channels. Students and staff returning from mobility are encouraged to share their knowledge and experiences with the University community.
Participant reports, feedback, recognition procedures and partnership outcomes are regularly evaluated. The results of these evaluations are used to improve the quality of mobility activities, participant support, academic recognition and international cooperation.
