New Erasmus+ Inter-Institutional Agreement Request

Ankara Science University aims to strengthen international academic cooperation and expand Erasmus+ mobility opportunities for students and staff.

Who May Submit an Agreement Request?

Academic units, departmental Erasmus coordinators and academic staff members who wish to propose a new Erasmus+ Inter-Institutional Agreement may submit their request to the Ankara Science University Erasmus Coordination Office.

Information Required for the Request

To ensure that the proposal can be properly evaluated, the request should include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Full name and country of the proposed partner institution,
  • Erasmus code of the partner institution, if available,
  • Relevant faculty, department or academic programme,
  • Academic field and ISCED code,
  • Name, position and e-mail address of the contact person at the partner institution,
  • Proposed types of student and staff mobility,
  • Study cycle,
  • Language of instruction and any language proficiency requirements,
  • Link to the partner institution’s course catalogue or relevant academic programme,
  • Information on any previous academic cooperation between the institutions, if applicable.

Evaluation and Agreement Process

The Erasmus Coordination Office evaluates the institutional and academic suitability of the proposed partner institution in cooperation with the relevant academic unit. The following matters are taken into consideration during the evaluation process:

  • Whether the partner institution holds a valid Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE),
  • Compatibility of the departments and academic fields,
  • Suitability of the course content for mobility,
  • Language of instruction and language proficiency requirements,
  • Reciprocity in terms of student and staff mobility,
  • Sustainability of the proposed cooperation.

Submitting an agreement request to the Erasmus Coordination Office does not guarantee that an agreement will be concluded with the proposed institution or that mobility places will be available during the relevant academic year.

If the proposal is considered suitable, official communication will be initiated with the partner institution. The academic fields, mobility types, quotas, validity period and other conditions of the agreement will then be discussed.

Once the parties reach a mutual agreement, the Inter-Institutional Agreement will be prepared by the Erasmus Coordination Office through the relevant digital system, and the institutional approval process will be completed.

Sample Proposal E-mail

Academic staff members who have a contact person at the proposed partner institution may use the sample proposal e-mail prepared for initial contact and preliminary discussions.

Before sending the e-mail, the faculty or department details, academic field, proposed mobility types and contact information must be adapted to the relevant partner institution. Following the initial communication, any positive response received and the contact details of the partner institution must be forwarded to the Erasmus Coordination Office.

Official agreement negotiations, preparation of the agreement through the digital system and institutional approval procedures are carried out by the Erasmus Coordination Office.
