Mission
Political Science and Public Administration has a number of scientific, professional, political, and sociological missions. The department's most important mission is undoubtedly to contribute to the academic community in the fields of political science, public administration, and international politics; to continue the study of political science and public administration as a discipline by monitoring the developments in political values, institutions, and practices in the contemporary world. Having entered academia with ambitious goals, the department, operating within Ankara University of Science, has a growing staff, expanding areas of activity, and a strong emphasis on research and development. With its mission to be a hub for scientific research in political science in Turkey and globally, it also has the capacity to prepare students for careers in national and international arenas through the education and training it provides, providing them with fulfilling work opportunities in various public institutions and the private sector. Contributing to a more conscious, peaceful, active, and productive political life at the citizen level by cultivating individuals who are thoughtful, knowledgeable, open to dialogue, and reconciliatory in our socio-political life is undoubtedly another important mission of the department.

Vision
Modern socio-political life is witnessing dazzling developments. The collapse of communism in the 1990s; democracy, human rights and freedoms and the rule of law have become paradigmatic political values of our age; international terrorism and the local, regional and global problems and transformations it has brought with it; and finally, the political developments that have continued with the Covid-19 process have left humanity in a state of astonishment and continue to do so; each new development is like a milestone, dragging our socio-political life to channels most of us never expected. Uncompromising ideological approaches are losing their validity, even the most rigid regimes struggle to survive in the face of freedom and competition, and the importance of compromise, peace, and cooperation is becoming more and more clear with each passing day. However, a pandemic like Covid-19, which humanity never expected under current conditions, and various other issues that have entered our political lives make it difficult to overcome problems with traditional methods. While restricting the vision of states, the economic world, and humanity in general, they force us to establish new paths and principles. The Department of Political Science and Public Administration has a vision of overcoming these and similar fundamental transformations, capturing the spirit of the times and acting accordingly, and becoming a community and center that guides, not seeks, guidance. The department strives to raise a modern generation familiar with contemporary political values and norms, capable of seeing and understanding the events unfolding in our political life and, more importantly, the things that should happen. Another important vision of the department is to become a pioneering, accurate, successful, and modern science and research center and educational center that we desperately need in socio-political life.
