Aleyna Salman - 4th Year Psychology (English) Student
I did my Erasmus internship at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, Czech Republic. My supervisor during this period was Mgr. Jakub Staněk, Ph.D. I am very interested in the field of cyberpsychology and focus on reading and researching in this area. My supervisor in the Czech Republic was an expert in cyberpsychology, which was the main reason why I wanted to do my internship with him. My thesis was related to a topic in cyberpsychology, and my supervisor was very helpful, providing ideas and suggesting that I could conduct my research using the virtual reality laboratory of the university. I continued my research with Czech participants using the psychology department's laboratory. Additionally, during my Erasmus internship, I observed experiments conducted for other theses written by Czech undergraduate and graduate psychology students, provided input on research methods, and assisted in literature reviews for some studies. Under the supervision of my advisor, I taught classes in Social Psychology and Gaming and Computer Addiction in English. Furthermore, I received an offer from some academics and my supervisor at the University of South Bohemia to pursue a master's degree there, and I applied for a master's in psychology. My advisor mentioned that he could be a supportive mentor in my future studies in the field of cyberpsychology. It was a 2-month experiene where I partially worked as an assistant to my supervisor and conducted my thesis in a laboratory setting.
Dilbeste Erdoğan - Fourth Year Psychology (English) Student

Hello! I'm Dilbeste. I'm one of the first students of the English Psychology department at Ankara Bilim University. During my last semester in 2023-2024 spring term, I completed the first half of my 4-month internship within the scope of the Erasmus+ internship mobility program in the Czech Republic. For 2 months, I completed my internship at the Psychology Research Institute of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Masaryk University in Brno. It was an unforgettable experience for me. Taking advantage of the Erasmus program had always been on my mind, so I had mentally prepared myself for this process. I believe that the academic and social experiences I gained during my internship helped me improve myself. Being in a research institute provided me with new ideas about my future plans at a time when I was very confused about what I wanted to do after graduation. Moreover, I found answers to questions swirling in my mind about how a psychology department and research processes work in a completely different country and university, and what the differences are compared to Turkey. During my internship, I worked with my supervisor to design a scientific research from scratch and experienced being part of an academic research team consisting of psychologists. I think allocating the last semester to an internship at our school is a great opportunity to experience our profession in different fields. I believe that doing internships in different places before graduating is especially beneficial for students who, like me, are not sure about what they want to do in the future.
