The Departments of Psychology (Turkish and English programs) at Ankara Bilim University, under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, initiated their accreditation efforts as of 2024 with the aim of systematically monitoring and improving the quality of education and training. Within this framework, the Minimum Educational Standards for Undergraduate Psychology Programs, developed by the Turkish Psychological Association (TPD), have served as the foundation for evaluating the academic and administrative structure, curriculum, applied training areas, and graduate qualifications of the programs.
One of the primary objectives of this process is to reach a level of institutional maturity that enables the departments to apply for the Quality Evaluation Registration Certificate issued by the Higher Education Quality Council of Türkiye (YÖKAK). Accordingly, all activities related to education and training, research, and societal contribution are being systematically reviewed, and continuous improvement processes are being structured within the quality assurance cycle.
Throughout this accreditation process, the Departments of Psychology at Ankara Bilim University have not only adopted national standards but have also taken the following international frameworks as key references:
The EuroPsy criteria developed by the European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations (EFPA),
The undergraduate education competencies outlined by the American Psychological Association (APA),
The European Standards and Guidelines (ESG) for quality assurance in higher education.
