Design the Skies and Aircraft Technologies of the Future!
Aeronautical engineering covers the design, production, testing, and airworthiness of manned and unmanned aerial vehicles. Aerodynamics, aircraft structures, propulsion systems, flight mechanics, and control form the foundation of the discipline. Ankara Science University Department of Aeronautical Engineering prepares students to assess aircraft performance, safety, and functionality together.
Ankara is one of Türkiye’s principal centres for the defence, aviation, and space industries. Its location enables students to follow technological developments, technical events, and career opportunities closely. The language of instruction is Turkish. The curriculum includes a compulsory English course in every semester. Students who meet the medical requirements specified by the Turkish Directorate General of Civil Aviation (SHGM) may take the theoretical courses for the Private Pilot Licence (PPL) as electives. No additional fee is charged for the PPL theoretical courses or the related theoretical knowledge examinations held at the SHGM KDM e-Examination Centre within the University. Flight training is conducted outside the programme and is subject to a separate fee. Students who meet the other admission requirements of the Department of Pilot Training may continue with flight training after completing the theoretical courses.
Graduates may work in aircraft design and development, aerodynamic and structural analysis, production and quality, testing and verification, airworthiness, maintenance planning, and research and development. The knowledge gained in mechanics, numerical analysis, and design may also be applied in the automotive, energy, and advanced manufacturing industries.
