Ankara Science University Library accepts donated publications.
DONATION AND PUBLICATION ACCEPTANCE POLICIES
Library and Documentation Department; The Library accepts donations of books, periodicals, non-book documents (materials), and other library materials.
Individuals or institutions wishing to make a donation must submit a list of the publications they will donate to the Library and Documentation Department in advance.
Publications to be donated must be appropriate for a University Library, maintain their current and scientific quality, be suitable for university education, or support researchers in social and cultural terms.
Resources related to science and medicine that are still up-to-date (published within the last 5 years) In the social sciences, publications that qualify as literary works are considered donations.
The Library and Documentation Department writes a thank-you note to those whose donations (donated publications) are accepted (a thank-you letter is given to individuals and institutions with 50 donated publications, and a plaque is given to individuals and institutions with 500 donated publications).
Information sources reproduced through photocopies, etc., are not accepted.
Publications distributed by newspapers as promotional materials; Donations cannot be accepted if they vary in terms of paper, printing, or content.
Publications that are physically clean, unused, missing pages, stamped, annotated, or scratched cannot be accepted as donations.
Publications that contain misleading political propaganda, etc., cannot be accepted as donations.
For periodicals and encyclopedias, the volume integrity must be checked. Publications that do not provide the necessary information, publications that do not integrate with the existing collection, and single issues cannot be accepted as donations.
Publications and materials that display characteristics such as primary and high school textbooks, open education, duplications, lecture notes, etc. cannot be accepted as donations.
Requests for special space from donors or institutions will not be accepted, and a special collection or shelf cannot be created within the library that would disrupt the integrity of the collection. However, if the donated publications constitute a rich collection of manuscripts and rare works, a special section may be created. The Rector also makes the decision on this matter.
The Department of Library and Documentation has the authority and rights to remove publications from the shelves or, in the case of duplicates, to donate or exchange them to the libraries of another unit or institution.
Donors cannot exercise any rights or claims regarding their subsequent donations.
