Dear Students,
Interior Architecture is not only the art of arranging spaces; it is a multifaceted design discipline that brings together human life, culture, technology, and the environment.
Today, designers must also provide solutions to complex issues beyond aesthetics and functionality, such as environmental sustainability, accessibility, preservation of cultural heritage, and societal needs. As the Department of Architecture at Ankara Science University, we aim to equip our students with the knowledge, skills, and responsibilities required by this changing and developing world. Throughout your education in our department, you will explore the creative aspects of design. You will learn to design user-centered and innovative spaces by combining technical knowledge with practical skills. One of our most important goals is to train you as designers who can bring together historical and cultural values with the needs of contemporary life, embrace universal design principles, and develop solutions sensitive to the needs of different user groups. Our educational program supports our students in integrating environmental, social, and economic sustainability principles into design processes through design studios, technical courses, and practical work. In addition, you will have the opportunity to prepare for the design practices of the future by getting acquainted with advanced material technologies, digital manufacturing methods, parametric design tools, and artificial intelligence-supported design technologies. As the Department of Architecture, we believe that design is more than individual production; it is a process that develops through the collaboration of different disciplines. Therefore, we attach great importance to our students developing their teamwork, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Design ideas are presented visually, in writing, and orally. We aim to train professionals who can express themselves effectively through tools, adhere to professional ethical values, are aware of their legal responsibilities, and prioritize user health. Our academic staff consists of faculty members who combine scientific research with practical experience, closely follow current developments, and value educating their students. Through studio work, research projects, technical trips, industry collaborations, and events conducted in our department, our students have the opportunity to interact with professional circles throughout their education. Our graduates; Graduates will be able to work in interior architecture and architectural offices, design and consulting companies, project management and implementation processes, furniture and product design fields, as well as have the skills to establish their own design ventures. The knowledge and experience you gain will offer you wide career opportunities both nationally and internationally.
