Department Chair’s Student Information Meeting

Dear Students,

The beginning-of-semester Student Information Meeting organized by our Department will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026, at 12:30 PM in Classroom C012. The meeting is expected to last approximately 45 minutes.

All students of our Department are expected to attend. Attendance will be taken.

1. Department, Program and Curriculum

  • The purpose of the program and the competencies it aims to provide students

  • General structure of the curriculum

  • Course contents and the relationship between courses

  • Receiving students’ opinions and suggestions regarding courses and the curriculum

  • Identifying courses that students would like to be introduced or improved

2. Career, Internships and Industry Engagement

  • Internship and practical training opportunities

  • Activities of the Career Center

  • Meetings and interactions with industry representatives

  • Career opportunities after graduation

  • Receiving students’ expectations regarding career opportunities and industry collaborations

3. University Facilities and Resources

  • Library and electronic databases

  • Digital systems and educational infrastructure

  • Laboratories, study areas and other physical facilities

  • Receiving students’ opinions, needs and suggestions regarding the facilities and resources provided by the university

4. Student Activities and Social Life

  • Student clubs and societies

  • Social, cultural and sporting activities

  • Activities organized for Department students

  • Identifying activities and events that students would like to see organized

5. Academic Activities

  • Seminars, conferences, panels, workshops and talks

  • Events involving academics and industry representatives

  • Student congresses and scientific meetings

  • Identifying the topics and types of academic events students would like to see organized

6. Projects and Academic Development

  • TÜBİTAK and other student project opportunities

  • Projects that can be carried out in collaboration with academic staff

  • Erasmus+, exchange programs and other academic development opportunities

  • Identifying students’ needs and requests regarding project development

7. Feedback, Requests and Suggestions

  • Feedback regarding courses, university facilities, student activities and academic events

  • Feedback regarding project and research opportunities

  • Other opinions, requests and suggestions concerning the operation of the Department

  • Sharing improvements made based on feedback received in previous semesters

  • Reminding students of the channels through which they can communicate their opinions, suggestions, requests and complaints
