As the Cybersecurity Technology Program, we believe that internships play a vital role in reinforcing theoretical knowledge through practical experience. We attach great importance to internship training to help our students develop their professional knowledge and skills in real working environments, gain industry experience, and become familiar with professional practices.
Mandatory Internship: As part of our curriculum, students are required to successfully complete a 30-working-day mandatory summer internship at the end of their first academic year in order to graduate. During the internship, students have the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge they have acquired throughout their education in real-world professional settings.
Internship Opportunities
Our students may complete their internships in a wide range of organizations, including:
- Private Sector: Cybersecurity companies, software development firms, technology companies, telecommunication providers, data centers, cloud service providers, banks, defense industry organizations, and businesses offering IT infrastructure and cybersecurity services.
- Public Institutions: IT departments of ministries, municipalities, universities, public institutions, and other government organizations with information technology and cybersecurity units.
- R&D and Technology Ecosystem: Technology companies located in technoparks, research and development (R&D) centers, start-ups, and innovative technology enterprises.
Learning Outcomes of the Internship: During their internships, students develop professional discipline, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. They also gain hands-on experience by applying the theoretical knowledge acquired in areas such as network and system administration, information security, firewall technologies, virtualization, web security, penetration testing, digital forensics, and secure software development in real workplace environments.
Career Opportunities: The internship experience enables students to gain valuable industry exposure and become familiar with professional working environments. Moreover, many of our graduates begin their careers in information technology and cybersecurity organizations after graduation, building upon the practical experience they acquired during their internships.
