The Dance of Art Through Time at Ankara Science University: Tan Sağtürk Was on Our Campus

Ankara Science University continues to bring our cultural heritage and the interdisciplinary power of art together with its students. In today's event, organized as part of the "Ankara" course, Tan Sağtürk, former General Manager of the State Opera and Ballet, Advisor to the Minister of Culture and Tourism, and a world-renowned ballet artist who has left a deep mark on Turkey's artistic memory, was our guest.

The interview, moderated by our Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Prof. Dr. Rengim Gökmen, and held in the university's foyer area, took place in a sincere, inspiring, and intellectually rich atmosphere. The interview, which attracted great interest from art-loving students and academic staff, addressed Ankara's historical position as a cultural and artistic capital, the universal language of ballet and music, and the role of young people's connection with art in building the future. Throughout the interview, Tan Sağtürk touched upon the healing power of dance and performing arts on the human soul; Rengim Gökmen shared insightful insights on the social implications of harmony within an orchestra. Enriched by questions from the participants, the event emphasized that art is not merely a pursuit, but a life discipline.

The event concluded with a symbolic donation from Tan Sağtürk, enriching our university's vocabulary and academic climate. Sağtürk gifted the word "Time," representing the cornerstone of art and the patient process of aesthetic creation, to Ankara Science University. This donation was not merely the delivery of a word; it was a powerful message emphasizing discipline, continuity, and legacy for young aspiring artists and academics.

As Ankara Science University, we consider it our duty to broaden our students' horizons through such events and to connect them with leading intellectual figures in Turkey. We extend our gratitude to Mr. Tan Sağtürk and Ms. Rengim Gökmen for their valuable energy and the precious experiences they shared with our university.
