Unforgettable Yeşilçam Artists Exhibition from Computer Aided Design and Animation Program Students

Students from the Computer-Aided Design and Animation Program at Ankara University of Science and Technology reinterpreted legendary figures of Turkish cinema with a contemporary artistic language. The digital exhibition "Respect for Green Pine," curated by Prof. Dr. Fatma Özcan, opened to art lovers on the university campus on May 7, 2025.

Ankara University of Science and Technology Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Demir attracted considerable interest in the event. In his opening remarks, Demir emphasized the university's mission to cultivate qualified and creative individuals through its innovative educational approach, saying, "Our students demonstrate not only their technical skills but also their sensitivity to cultural heritage with this project." He also recalled Yeşilçam's place in Turkey's collective memory, stating that such artistic events hold great significance in connecting with the past.

As part of this special event, a corridor at the university was transformed into "Yeşilçam Street" with conceptual designs. The space, enriched with movie posters, old street lamps, period objects, and retro details placed on the walls, gave visitors the feeling of being in an open-air film studio.

Blending modern design with nostalgia, the exhibition combines the expressive power of digital art with the warm atmosphere of the Green Pine. The polygonal forms used in the portraits combine both artistic abstraction and technological aesthetics, presenting a timeless narrative.

The exhibition, which will continue to welcome visitors until the end of June, aims to leave a lasting impression in memories by bridging the gap between digital art and nostalgia.
