Faculty of Aviation and Space Sciences
Aviation is a sector that requires advanced technology, high safety standards, and coordination among different fields of expertise. Developments in the sector continue to increase the demand for qualified professionals. Ankara Science University Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics will admit its first students in the 2026–2027 academic year. The Faculty comprises the Departments of Pilot Training, Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Management, and Air Traffic Control. The language of instruction is Turkish. The curriculum includes a compulsory English course in every semester.
Students enrolled in Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Management, and Air Traffic Control may take the theoretical courses for the Private Pilot Licence (PPL) as electives. Enrolment requires compliance with the medical requirements specified by the Turkish Directorate General of Civil Aviation (SHGM). No additional fee is charged for the theoretical courses. Students may also take the relevant theoretical knowledge examinations at the SHGM KDM e-Examination Centre located within the University without paying an additional fee. After completing the theoretical training, students who wish to continue may undertake flight training for a fee, provided that they meet the other admission requirements of the Department of Pilot Training.
Professional knowledge, aviation safety, and a sense of responsibility are fundamental elements of education at the Faculty. Relating their own fields of study to other aviation disciplines is an important part of the students’ learning process. The Faculty’s educational approach is based on preparing graduates who can adapt to changing technologies and assume responsibility in national and international professional environments. Its priority in education and research is to contribute to the development of Türkiye’s aviation knowledge base and qualified workforce.
