The R&D project titled “Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Detection, Recognition and Tracking System,” to be carried out in collaboration between Ankara Science University and Gürbağ Defense, has been awarded funding under the TÜBİTAK 1501 – Industrial R&D Support Program. The project aims to develop an integrated system architecture for the real-time detection, classification, and tracking of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). To this end, the project targets the development of data collection based on a multi-sensor infrastructure, sensor-data fusion, advanced signal processing techniques, and artificial intelligence-based decision support algorithms.
Our university faculty members Prof. Dr. Hakan Çağlar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Nedim Alpdemir, and Dr. Hamed Kaghazchi are leading the project, and our students from the relevant department will also actively participate in the project activities. We wish success to all our academic staff and the project team involved in this strategically important project within the framework of the university-industry collaboration model.
