2025-2026 Fall Semester Preparatory Course Exemption Exam

Dear Students,

The first stage of the 2025–2026 Fall Term Proficiency Exam will be held on Monday, 12 January 2026, between 10:00 and 12:00. The exam room lists for students are attached.

  • There will be no make-up or excuse exam for the Proficiency Exam. Students who do not attend the exam will not be given another opportunity to take it.
  • On Monday, 12 January, students must be in their exam rooms at least 15 minutes before the exam start time.
  • Students are responsible for bringing their student ID card, pen, eraser, and any other necessary stationery.
  • During the exam, the use of mobile phones, smart watches, and any electronic devices with internet access is strictly prohibited. Before the exam starts, students must leave their electronic devices in the area specified by the exam staff in the exam room.
  • The exam will begin with the listening section. Students who arrive late will be allowed to enter the room only after the listening section is finished. Answers given for the listening section by students who were not present during this part will be considered invalid.
  • The exam rules are written on the back page of the exam booklet that will be given to you. Students are expected to follow these rules throughout the exam.
  • Students who disturb others, disrupt the exam order, or are found cheating will have their exam terminated, and an official report will be written.
  • After finishing the exam, please make sure that you have correctly marked your name, student number, and all answers on the optical answer sheet. Correctly filling in the optical form is the student’s responsibility.
  • At the end of the exam, you must submit both the exam booklet and the optical answer sheet. Taking physical or digital copies of any exam materials is strictly prohibited.
  • If students who do not meet the attendance and grade point average requirements are allowed to take the exam by mistake, their exam results will be considered invalid.
  • Your exam results will be announced on Tuesday, 13 January 2026, after 12:00 PM. Therefore, any requests regarding exam results made before this time will not be taken into consideration.
  • Students from the Translation and Interpreting Department who score 70 or above in the first stage will be eligible to take the second stage exams. Students from all other departments must score 45 or above in the first stage to be eligible for the second stage exams.

All the rules stated above apply to all students who will take the exam.
