LIBRARY USAGE RULES
Membership
- University academic and administrative staff, undergraduate and graduate students (including international exchange students), members of the Board of Trustees, and faculty members from other universities with which we have signed a protocol may become Library members.
- 1. Those who do not meet the definition specified in the article cannot become members of the Library and cannot borrow information sources; However, users may access information resources within the Library.
- Users are responsible for promptly reporting any changes to their personal information in the system to the Library.
- No membership registration fee is charged.
- Membership rights continue until the university is terminated.
- All users, regardless of whether they are members of the Library, are subject to the Library Operating Principles and Procedures Directive. Warning.
- Users are obligated to comply with the current "Law on Intellectual and Artistic Works" when using information sources. The University/Library cannot be held legally responsible for any problems arising from non-compliance with this law.
Refund Rules
Members are obligated to refund information from the Library in accordance with the rules set forth below.
- It is mandatory to show your university ID card when returning a library document.
- Information resources cannot be returned with another member's ID card, and the period cannot be extended.
- The library is obligated to use the resources carefully and return them at the end of the return period. Failure to receive a warning message does not invalidate this obligation. does not eliminate it.
- Unless reserved by another member, the validity period of a returned resource can be extended a maximum of 2 (two) times.
- Extensions can be made through the automation system 3 (three) days before the return date. Information resources that have passed their return date and have been reserved by another member cannot be extended.
- The library reserves the right to request the return of returned information resources without waiting for the return date if it deems necessary.
- A member who terminates their relationship with the university for any reason must return all information resources on their behalf.
- A warning email will be sent to members automatically by the library automation system 2 (two) days before the return deadline for information resources they have returned, and at intervals of 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9 days after the return deadline, starting every 9th day. The member is responsible for monitoring the return dates of information resources returned from the library. Members are responsible for associating their active email accounts with their user accounts in the library automation system. Failure to receive sent emails will not be considered a reason for not applying penalties resulting from late delivery.
- Periodicals, theses, rare books, and reference collections cannot be returned.
- Users with overdue materials cannot return other materials without returning them and paying the overdue fee.
- According to user groups;
- Undergraduate students: 5 books for 15 days,
- Master's and doctoral students: 10 books for 30 days,
- Academic staff: 10 books for 30 days,
- Administrative staff: 5 books for 15 days,
- All members: 2 DVDs, CDs, films, audiovisuals, etc., for 3 days.
- Materials can be reserved. If reserved materials are not collected within 2 (two) days of the announcement, the reservation will be canceled. Multimedia materials cannot be reserved.
Library Rules
The rules to be followed inside the library are listed below.
- LibraryChecks and drinks are not allowed in the library.
- Cell phones are not allowed in the library.
- Users are responsible for the security of their belongings. The Department Head Office is not responsible for lost items. For lost items, please contact the University Security Coordinator.
- Loud speaking is prohibited in the lounges and corridors, and group study is not permitted.
- Group study rooms are accessible by reservation for a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 users. The maximum time allowed for groups is 1 hour.
- Users found to have damaged the library's information resources and belongings (computers, chairs, tables, etc.) in any way will be reported to the Rectorate for necessary legal action.
- Users are responsible for heeding the warnings of library staff.
- In the event that information resources are removed or attempted to be removed without permission from the Library, users who engage in this action will be reported to the Rectorate for necessary legal action.
- Tobacco and alcohol products are not permitted in any part of the library.
- When entering and exiting the library, personal belongings such as ID cards, bags, etc. are checked by security personnel when deemed necessary.
- Used resources must be left on their desks.
Rules for Delaying, Losing, or Damaging Information Resources
A penalty will be applied for publications that are not returned within the return period or that are damaged.
- If the return date for each publication returned from the general collection is missed, a daily fine of 0.60 TL will be applied for each publication.
- Publications in the reserve collection (heavily used) are returned hourly. A 0.80 TL penalty will be applied for each hour of delay.
- If multimedia materials such as DVDs, CDs, films, and audiovisuals are returned late, a daily late fee of 0.60 TL will be applied for each resource.
- Users who exceed the 20 TL penalty limit cannot receive broadcasts without paying the late fee. The late fee cannot be accepted in cash. The amount will be deposited into the university's account designated by the Department of Administrative and Financial Affairs.
- Books that are not returned after 90 days have passed will be considered lost. Users' memberships will be suspended (blocked), and the returned books will not be returned within the same academic year.
- For each lost book, including books that are out of print or unavailable, the market value and a late fee will be charged. If the book is still in print, the latest edition of the same book must be obtained.
- Any feedback regarding the cancellation or postponement of the late payment penalty will be requested. The personnel on duty at the checkout counter and other library personnel have no authority whatsoever.
- Users who damage books in any way must pay twice the current value of the book (based on the Central Bank's foreign exchange rate on the day the Library operates).
- Users who are found to have intentionally damaged a publication will be subject to penalties, in addition to penalties, for one academic year.
- Penalty amounts may be changed by the Board of Trustees upon the proposal of the Board of Directors.
Rules Applicable in Case of Termination of Membership
In the following cases, membership ends by terminating the relationship with the library:
- Leaving the university for a certain period due to reasons such as assignment or military service; Academic and administrative staff whose employment ends due to contract termination, resignation, or retirement must return the materials they borrowed from the Library and pay any outstanding debts in order to be dismissed.
- For students to be dismissed, upon graduation or if their registration is cancelled for any reason, they must return the materials they borrowed from the Library and pay any outstanding debts.
- If members leave the university for any reason without returning the returned materials, they will be subject to legal action.The process is reported to the Rectorate to be initiated.
