RESEARCH INTERESTS
My main research interests involve topics in Comparative Politics and Public Policy, more specifically collaborative governance, participatory democracy, policy networks, policy deliberation, local governance, health and other public policy issues, with a special focus on developing countries. My recently published book investigates policy networks that enable the participation of public, private and voluntary actors into policy making processes within the Turkish health sector with a special focus on the sub-areas of public health, health tourism, and medical industry. I am particularly interested in collaborating in cutting-edge research topics with academics from Turkey and other countries. In the period from 2018 to 2020, I was involved in a research project on the “Development of an Interactive Social Cohesion Governance Model in Turkey” (InScol Project) funded by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), where we investigated the societal and policy processes that strengthen social cohesion in forced migration contexts through an examination of the Turkish experience with Syrian refugees.
